Bellarine Railway Track Upgrade

Since 2021, we had the privilege of participating in an exciting project to upgrade the Bellarine Railway line in Victoria, Australia. Our team of 8-10 railway labourers and welders have worked continuously to ensure the project's completion and handover.

Our goal was to support the operations and expansion of Bellarine Railway services, making it a key regional community tourism asset. We accomplished this by rehabilitating the 16.5km rail track infrastructure between Drysdale (High St) and Queenscliff (Bridge St).

Throughout the project, we worked hard to improve the track infrastructure – to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Bellarine Railway. This included welding new rails and repairing others to provide a better riding experience for passengers, while reducing maintenance costs for both trains and tracks. The indirect benefits of our efforts allowed for the expansion of train experience offerings, increasing visitation to the region and providing broader economic benefits.

The outcome of our work, as a collective with other trades, was a resounding success, enabling the Geelong Steam Preservation Society to achieve its objectives. Bellarine Railway has become a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike, with improved operations and expanded train experience offerings.
